Accessibility
Last updated: October 3, 2026
JY Concepts wants HymnKeys to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Pages work with a keyboard, with a “Skip to content” link and visible focus outlines.
- Text and buttons meet contrast guidelines, with large type and buttons at least 48 pixels tall.
- Pages have a clear heading structure and page landmarks.
- Hymn words are always regular text on the page. Key, tempo and stanza changes in the practice player are announced to screen readers.
- Slides work with the keyboard: arrow keys, space, Home and End.
- Animations are turned off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Text can be enlarged with your browser’s zoom without breaking the layout.
Known limits
The spam check on the signup form is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, which we don’t control. The melody notation is drawn as an image by your browser and isn’t readable by screen readers; the words and the facts about each hymn are always regular text. The practice player needs JavaScript.
Tell us about a problem
